One of the best parts of living in Plano is there is no shortage of activities, there is so much to do and explore. From shopping and dining to outdoor and educational activities, there is something for everyone to discover.

If you have children, the Crayola Experience is a must see. Located at the Shops at Willow Bend, children can enjoy 22 hands-on attractions which include becoming a star in their own coloring page, live shows where you can learn the science behind your favorite Crayola products, or creating your own crayon.

Want to try some delicious food and do some shopping? Legacy West and The Shops at Legacy may be more your speed. Both located just south of the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway and 121, these open-air developments offer shopping, fine dining, and events throughout the year. Want an area that’s a little more slow-paced and gives you the feel of being on vacation, check out Granite Park Boardwalk.

Need a way to cool off during the hot summer heat? Then show your Texas Pride by enjoying summer days in a legendary 168,000 saltwater pool shaped like Texas. Texas Pool is a relaxed family-friendly environment that is opened from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Families can enjoy picnics and volleyball or become a mermaid for the day.

Looking for a totally unique and outdoor experience, then head on over to Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve to Go Ape. This 2-3 hour journey will take you through the forest canopies as you suspend obstacles, swing like Tarzan and enjoy incredible views down the zip lines.

Plano Schools

The Plano Independent School District serves the majority to the area, with select areas feeding into Lewisville, Frisco, or Allen School Districts. Plano offers a very unique school system to their students by splitting 9th and 10th grade into high schools and 11th and 12th grade into senior highs. PISDs mission is to provide an excellent education for each student and their goals are to ensure continued improvement in student learning and ensure efficient use of financial resources.

If you are considering a private school for your child’s education, Plano is home to several options including Prestonwood Christian Academy, John Paul II High School, and Prince of Peace.

For those wanting to further their own education, the Collin County College Spring Creek Campus offers plenty of core classes in the fine arts, communication, humanities, math and sciences
